We are seeking a Warehouse Assistant Manager to support our warehouse operations, oversee staff, and drive efficiency in our inventory management. Key Responsibilities
- Operational Support:
- Assist the Warehouse Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure smooth workflows.
- Monitor and ensure timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of inventory.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise warehouse processes.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise warehouse staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a positive work environment by encouraging teamwork and accountability.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts and regular audits.
- Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to ensure stock levels meet demand.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Enforce compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
- Ensure the warehouse operates under optimal health and safety conditions.
- Reporting:
- Generate and analyse reports on warehouse productivity, inventory levels, and staff performance.
- Provide recommendations for improvements to the Warehouse Manager.
- Technology & Equipment:
- Assist in managing warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technology tools.
- Oversee the maintenance and proper use of warehouse equipment.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Experience in the retail or footwear industry is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in varying warehouse conditions (e.g., temperature changes).
