Role: The prime function of this position is to work with the existing team to ensure that the targets are met on a day-to-day basis. You will be responsible for operating technical equipment, optimizing loading for efficient logistics, and supporting other warehouse functions to ensure optimal operation of the business. This is a hands-on role, ideal for a person who has previous forklift experience in a busy warehouse. Forklift operators will need to transport valuable stock, both raw material and finished goods, requiring diligence and good hand-eye coordination. Responsibilities:
- Adhere to site safety rules.
- Adhere to organisation's business values and quality standards.
- Ensure that all instructions from management are carried out accurately and efficiently.
- Safely move items to preferred locations.
- Loading and unloading of materials to and from different areas of racking, ensuring to correctly scan that product to and from the location on STL's WMS.
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment, including frequent daily inspections, before use, of that equipment's fit for use.
- Reporting to STL leadership any defects identified which impact the equipment's fit for use status and ensure that defective equipment is not used until the issue is resolved.
- Reporting to STL leadership any safety issues caused involving any damage to equipment or racking due to non-compliance with all H&S operational guidelines.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in all functions.
- Always comply with company policies and guidelines, particularly H&S, as well as the wearing of required PPE and all timekeeping policies.
- Excellent team player with good attention to detail.
- Identifying workplace safety hazards.
- Any reasonable request.
- Candidates must have 2 years forklift experience.
- Valid Forklift License is required; turret truck (9 tonne) licence advantageous.
- Valid Counterbalance or PPT forklift licence.
- Valid Manual Handling Certificate desired (training can be provided).
- Experience in warehouse systems would be an advantage.
