ABOUT THE ROLE: The Recruiting Coordinator is responsible for systems and processes and assists the Richmond Football Club Recruiting team, predominantly working with vision, databases, and statistics with a view to select high quality AFL players through all forms of the talent pathway (Trade/FA/National Draft/Rookie Draft). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Scout and identify talent by viewing live games and weekly vision, focusing on national and Victorian talent pools.
- Coordinate and support interviews with potential draftees and their families to assess suitability for AFL football and Club culture.
- Create and maintain player records in the Club recruiting database.
- Code and analyse individual player vision using Sportscode and assess players using ratings system.
- Analyse CIA data and assist with Draft Profile Reports and vision databases for Draft meetings.
- Build and maintain relationships with talent pathway club coaches and managers and communicate with various leagues for background information on players.
- Stay updated on AFL recruiting trends and Club game plans.
- Proven experience in AFL talent scouting and identification, including a thorough understanding of the AFL talent pathway and player recruitment process.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with talent pathway club coaches, player management groups, and potential draftees and their families.
- Analytical skills and experience in data analysis, including experience with recruiting databases, Sportscode and CIA data analysis.
- Strong work ethic with a drive to succeed and a commitment to continuously grow and improve.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to think critically and analytically.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
