Job Description:
- Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the laboratory and ensure accurate analysis of coal, ash, water, and other plant-related materials
- Manage and oversee water quality testing, including raw water, boiler feed water, cooling water, and effluent discharge analysis
- Supervise and manage coal analysis processes, including sampling, proximate/ultimate analysis, calorific value determination, ash fusion, and moisture content tests
- Monitor supplier coal quality compliance and provide feedback to procurement and operations team as needed
- Develop, implement, and monitor laboratory quality control procedures in compliance with industry standards
- Analyze data trends to optimize plant efficiency and ensure compliance with environmental regulations
- Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to address quality-related concerns
- Maintain inventory of chemicals, laboratory equipment, ensure calibration, and troubleshoot issues accordingly
Key Requirements:
- Thorough knowledge of coal chemistry, water treatment, and ash analysis
- Ability to analyze data and provide actionable recommendations
- Familiarity with environmental and quality standards, and relevant pollution control norms
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with proactive and results-oriented approach
