Key job responsibilities As a Business Intelligence Engineer in Amazon's Cross-Border Team, you'll be responsible for:- Develop and maintain small to mid-size BI solutions that drive data-informed decisions in our international e-commerce operations.
- Create and optimize data sets, queries, reports, and dashboards to answer critical business questions.
- Design and implement ETL processes to ensure data accuracy and timeliness.
- Utilize SQL and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, QuickSight) to deliver actionable insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into effective BI solutions.
- Implement data security measures and ensure compliance with Amazon's policies.
- Produce comprehensive documentation for all BI solutions to ensure ease of use and maintainability.
- Participate in code reviews and conduct thorough testing to maintain high-quality standards.
- Identify and automate manual processes to improve operational efficiency.
- Contribute to team discussions on project design, scoping, and prioritization.
- Build a deep understanding of the business context and technologies underlying our data infrastructure.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience - Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools - Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared)- Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)- Bachelor's degree in statistics, business analytics, data analytics, data science, computer science or related fieldPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
