Health and safety advisor (Utilities/facilities)- Dublin

Health and Safety Advisor - Dublin In partnership with our client, Glantech Staffing are currently seeking applications for the position of Health and Safety Advisor. The successful Health and Safety Advisor will support the delivery of projects across all aspects of the business from a Health and Safety point of view. A strong ethos on health and safety, compliance, reporting, and documentation are essential qualities. Key Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

1. Conduct site surveying and setting out.
2. Provide health and safety training to employees including but not limited to manual handling, toolbox talks, and safety induction.
3. Conduct safety inspections and audits.
4. Approach accident prevention and protection of the environment positively, with the ability to initiate and maintain effective measures to raise safety, health, and environmental standards and awareness.
5. Assist in the preparation of reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to management.
6. Implement the company’s health, safety, and environmental policy, procedures, and management systems.
7. Assist in the maintenance of Health & Safety KPIs to help drive improvement in all related matters.
8. Support management in the development of H&S procedures, policies, and programs.
9. Work as part of the HSQE team to ensure the provision of a safe and productive work environment.
10. Seek to improve the standard of Health & Safety in a practical manner within the company management system and on specific sites.
11. Monitor and enforce the implementation of the Health & Safety Management System.
12. Identify site-specific hazards and ensure they are addressed in the site documentation and in a practical manner on the site.
13. Maintain clear lines of communication with the H&S Manager.
14. Ensure site folders and statutory records are maintained.
15. Ensure strict adherence to site rules by all.
16. Assist site management in complying with statutory H&S requirements.
17. Assist the Health & Safety Manager in developing and implementing risk assessments and improvements to the Safe Systems of Work.
18. Coordinate the safe systems of work for all with the H&S Manager and site management.
19. Carry out H&S auditing on site and address non-conformances with site management and contractors.
20. Contribute to accident and incident investigations.
21. Identify training needs on site for company personnel and contractors.
22. Perform ad hoc tasks as needed by the wider business.

1. Full clean driver’s license essential.
2. A 3rd level qualification in Health and Safety is desirable.
3. Civils, drainage, or utilities (water & electricity) experience.
4. Confident, motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
5. Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines.
6. Time management abilities to meet targets.
7. Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
8. Integrity and respect for confidentiality and privacy.
9. Strong relationship builder with the ability to leverage key relationships across the full spectrum of project stakeholders and statutory bodies.
10. Ability to manage risk and implement control measures.
11. Able to work and build strong relationships with contractors from various backgrounds and trades.
