Job Description As a Printing Machine Operator, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Reviewing job orders to make the right adjustments to the printing machine.
  2. Preparing, operating, and maintaining the press:
  3. Installing the printing plate with the images to be printed and adjusting the pressure at which the machine prints.
  4. Loading paper and adjusting the press to the paper size.
  5. Feeding paper through the press cylinders and adjusting feed and tension controls.
  6. Filling ink and dampening solution fountains of the press.
  7. Adjusting press machine parts.
  8. Regularly inspecting the press machine for any malfunctions.
  9. Performing maintenance tasks on the printing machine.
  10. Troubleshooting minor machine issues such as creaking sounds.
  11. Coordinating with the in-house maintenance team for any machine malfunctions.
  12. Cleaning the printing press and peripherals.
  13. Performing other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
  14. Setting time aside to learn and keep oneself updated with the latest printing technologies.
  15. Initiating interest to cross-train with other operators handling different press machines to enhance skills.
Skills To be successful in this role, you should possess:
  1. A certificate from any program in Printing Technology.
  2. At least 1-2 years of related working experience in a printing facility.
  3. Familiarity with installing different machine parts of the press such as plates, rollers, and feed guides, and adjusting them to meet the required results.
  4. Attention to detail.
  5. Technical knowledge of printing machines.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively.
  7. Ability to work well with others.
