The opportunity We are excited to invite applications for the role of Director Technical Strategy & Architecture Government Technology Platforms, within Digital NSW as it transforms to become the state's trusted partner for digital enablement. This is a senior leadership role that will be critical to leading through the implementation of our new value-based operating model while ensuring outcomes continue to be delivered to a high standard. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will lead the technical strategy development and implementation of all-of-government reusable platforms that are accessible, efficient and continuously deliver value aligned to evolving government priorities. This role has accountability for technical governance and ensuring solutions meet agreed outcomes and standards. You will lead and develop a team of technical experts in the architecture chapter and the information Security team driving optimisation and security of systems, mitigating risks, and bolstering the effectiveness and reliability of government services in an agile environment. Wearing the Enterprise Architect “hat”, you will be the “go to” expert for technical solutions, regularly engaging stakeholders at all levels across government and industry; the ability to translate complex and highly technical content into plain English is essential. You will also represent the organisation in all-of-government and interjurisdictional forums to provide authoritative and specialist advice. This role is accountable for ensuring consistency, continuous improvement and effective delivery of strategic initiatives that support organisational wide objectives. What you will bring to this role
    • Extensive experience in a digital/ICT functional role including possessing deep technical knowledge and understanding of both legacy and emerging technologies
    • Prior experience undertaking Enterprise Architect functions
    • Demonstrated evidence of successfully developing and executing digital/technology strategy in a complex organisation
    • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills with proven success in developing and maintaining effective engagements across complex organisations to achieve shared outcomes
    • Experience in delivering and improving complex, integrated ecosystems that incorporate legacy and modern technologies
    • Demonstrated experience as a strategic people leader and sound financial management
    • Experience in leading and participating in operational and senior level governance forums to provide assurance and appropriate level of authoritative advice
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
