The IT Infrastructure Operations Lead will oversee and manage critical infrastructure components, including servers, backups, storage, databases, and networks. This role ensures IT systems' availability, performance, and security, providing technical leadership and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in IT infrastructure management and a proven ability to lead technical teams effectively. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure Operations Management
- Manage and monitor server environments (physical and virtual), ensuring high availability and performance.
- Oversee storage systems (SAN, NAS) and ensure optimal capacity planning and data management.
- Ensure proper backup strategies and timely recovery procedures to safeguard organisational data.
- Maintained and optimised database systems to meet business needs.
- Manage network operations, including LAN/WAN and network security devices.
- Lead and mentor the infrastructure operations team, providing technical guidance and fostering skill development.
- Ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests, adhering to SLAs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and projects.
- Implement and enforce security policies to protect IT systems and data from threats.
- Ensure compliance with organisational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor infrastructure for vulnerabilities and lead remediation efforts.
- Develop and implement capacity planning for servers, storage, and network resources.
- Identify opportunities for infrastructure optimisation and implement cost-effective solutions.
- Prepare and manage the infrastructure operations budget in alignment with business goals.
- Implement and manage monitoring tools to proactively detect and resolve performance issues.
- Provide regular reports on infrastructure health, performance, and capacity metrics.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in IT infrastructure management.
- Hands-on experience managing servers, storage, backups, databases, and networks in enterprise environments.
- Proven experience in leading technical teams.
- Experience in Life Science, Pharma & Manufacturing would be a plus.
- Strong knowledge of virtualisation technologies (e.g., Nutanix, VMware, Hyper-V).
- Expertise in storage systems and backup solutions (e.g., Veritas).
- Knowledge in database management (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle).
- Comprehensive understanding of network protocols, routing, and security (e.g., firewalls, VPNs).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Excellent time management and organisational abilities.
- ITIL, CCNA/CCNP, MCSE, VMware VCP, TOGAF or AWS Solutions Architect.
- Good Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure).
