Position Overview: Job Title : Dean of Academics Location : Symbiosis Skills & Professional University, Kiwale, Pune Job Description : SSPU is seeking an experienced and visionary academic leader to join our team as the Dean of Academics . The Dean will play a key role in overseeing the design, development, and delivery of academic programs while ensuring high standards of education and academic administration across the university. Responsibilities :

• Oversee the design, development, and continuous improvement of the university’s curriculum, ensuring alignment with industry trends and academic standards.
• Develop and implement academic programs across various levels, including new courses and programs that address emerging fields of study.
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive quality assurance framework for the university, including course validation and revalidation, student admission processes, and assessment methods.
• Foster an innovative academic environment by encouraging new approaches to course design and delivery, ensuring alignment with educational standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Guide faculty and staff in the development of teaching and learning strategies that enhance student engagement, critical thinking, and practical skills.
• Promote intellectual debate, challenge thinking, and cultivate an environment that fosters rational discourse and academic growth among students.
• Supervise student projects, field trips, and, where applicable, internships or placements, ensuring that they meet educational objectives.
• Monitor and assess student work, including setting, marking, and providing feedback on assignments and examinations.
• Ensure that academic programs and teaching methods are inclusive and equitable, catering to the diverse needs of staff and students.
• Represent the academic interests of the university in meetings and strategic discussions with stakeholders.

• Ph.D. in a relevant field of study.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in academics or academic administration at senior-level positions in educational institutions, with substantial exposure to higher education systems.
• Proven expertise in curriculum design, academic program development, and quality assurance frameworks.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and mentoring faculty and staff.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to foster a positive and inclusive academic environment that encourages critical thinking and innovation.
