Specialist - Database Developer

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Tech team at Mercer. This role will be based in Noida/ Gurgaon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office Specialist - Database Developer We are seeking a skilled candidate who can develop and maintain Oracle database applications using PL/SQL programming language with strong SQL understanding and good to have VBA exposure. We will count on you to:

• Designing, developing & delivering end to end software solutions
• Ensure reusability, security, performance and standard industry coding practices and patterns
• Creating high and low level technical specification documents
• Conduct code reviews
• Function as part of a highly collaborative team
• Take end to end ownership on project modules owned
• Able to implement technical solutions end to end
• Must be able to work without supervision/direction; able to resolve technical hurdles independently
• Able to discover technical requirements comparing different application versions
• Able to propose efficient & quality solutions/recommendations
• Should have worked with Agile Methodologies
• Excellent analytical and effective communication skills
• Able to introduce, lead & implement software engineering best practices
• Proactive in proposing new ideas and solutions
• Motivated to learn and apply new technologies
• Good command of English (communication with colleagues abroad)

What you need to have:

• Overall IT experience in range of 3 – 7 years
• At least 3 years of experience on developing and maintaining Oracle database applications using PL/SQL programming language with strong SQL understanding.
• BTech/MCA
• Developing and maintaining Oracle database applications using PL/SQL programming language
• Strong SQL knowledge for Oracle and proficiency in SQL-related queries
• Good knowledge of VBA
• Experience working in a production environment
• Experience handling Service Level Agreement (SLA) based issues
• Effective communicator with the ability to engage both technical and business-oriented audiences
• Self-motivated with a strong ability to learn through research and self-training
