Swabbs is seeking an experienced General Manager (GM) to lead the establishment, operation, and growth of its medical and personal hygiene products manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in factory operations, production management, and the FMCG/hygiene sector . This role requires expertise in scaling a startup factory, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, optimizing production efficiency, and driving market entry strategies. The GM will oversee all business aspects, from production and supply chain to financial management and business development, ensuring Swabbs becomes a leading regional manufacturer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Factory Setup & Operational Management
- Lead the establishment and operational launch of the manufacturing facility.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production.
- Oversee procurement, installation, and commissioning of machinery and production lines.
- Ensure adherence to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and hygiene regulations.
- Monitor efficiency, waste reduction, and production targets to optimize factory output.
- Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
- Develop a 5-year strategic growth plan to establish Swabbs as a key market player.
- Identify new product opportunities and expand market reach.
- Build relationships with distributors, retailers, and export partners to scale sales.
- Ensure Swabbs' products meet regional and international certifications and compliance (e.g., FDA, EU, ISO).
- Financial Management & Budgeting
- Develop and manage the factory’s budget, cost controls, and P&L statements .
- Ensure optimal resource allocation and cost-effective production methods.
- Identify funding opportunities, grants, or governmental support for expansion.
- Work closely with finance teams on pricing strategies and profitability analysis.
- Supply Chain & Procurement
- Oversee raw material sourcing and vendor negotiations for cost optimization.
- Establish strong relationships with local and international suppliers .
- Develop a streamlined supply chain strategy to ensure consistent inventory flow.
- Implement just-in-time (JIT) production and stock management to minimize waste.
- Team Leadership & HR Development
- Recruit, train, and build a high-performing production and management team .
- Implement KPIs for staff performance, training programs, and succession planning .
- Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and quality excellence.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and workplace safety standards.
- Sales, Marketing & Customer Relations
- Work closely with sales & marketing teams to define market positioning and distribution strategies .
- Develop pricing models that balance competitiveness and profitability .
- Oversee the introduction of Swabbs' branded products into retail, online, and B2B channels .
- Identify key wholesale and B2B partnerships for regional expansion.
- Compliance, Quality Control & Risk Management
- Ensure ISO, GMP, FDA, and MOH compliance for all production activities.
- Implement quality assurance and control systems to maintain product excellence.
- Oversee environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance to prevent risks.
- Develop contingency plans for operational disruptions and risk mitigation.
- Reporting & Communication
- Provide regular reports on factory performance, production KPIs, and financials to the CEO.
- Act as the liaison between different departments and external stakeholders .
- Drive transparency, accountability, and data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in factory management, production, or FMCG manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of medical, personal hygiene, or pharmaceutical manufacturing processes .
- Experience in setting up a new factory or leading factory scale-up is highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of ISO, GMP, FDA, and industry regulations .
- Proven track record in financial management, cost control, and supply chain oversight .
- Strong leadership skills with experience in team development and operational efficiency .
- Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus).
