Senior Accountant Job Description Job Title: Senior Accountant Job Summary: The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing and coordinating accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, and tax compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in developing and maintaining budgets, forecasts, and financial projections, and analyze variances to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of tax returns, including federal, state, and local taxes, and coordinate with external auditors and tax authorities as needed.
Account Reconciliations: Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank statements, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Audit Support: Assist in preparing and reviewing financial statements and other documentation for external audits, and coordinate with auditors to ensure compliance with audit requirements.
Fixed Assets and Depreciation: Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules, ensuring schedules are reconciled to the general ledger.
Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis and provide insights to management on financial performance, trends, and areas for improvement.
