The Position The Department is seeking an Orthopaedic Surgeon to join the team on a permanent basis. The Hospital The hospital provides a wide spectrum of medical, surgical, and psychiatric services. It caters to a catchment area that exceeds 110,000 residents and boasts a total capacity of almost 300 beds along with an extensive array of primary and community healthcare services. It serves as the primary acute care referral center for the South West Region, houses a Deakin Clinical School on its premises, and is the largest employer in the region. The Location A comfortable 3 hr drive from Melbourne, this is a university city known for its breathtaking coastline and natural beauty. Here you will spend less time commuting in traffic and more time enjoying the region! With a population of 34,000 and a catchment of 100,000 it is the regional center to Victoria's Great South Coast. The area boasts excellent sporting, education, social and cultural facilities. The Requirements One or more of the following:
- Hold or be eligible for registration with AHPRA
- Possess at least 12 months recent experience as an Orthopaedic Surgeon
- Hold or be eligible for the FRACS
- RACS trainee approaching Fellowship
- IMG's assessed by RACS and found to be substantially comparable.
