About the role To continue the upkeep of our facility and grounds, a new opportunity has become available for an experienced All Rounder, Maintenance Officer to join the team at Hetti Perkins Home for the Aged facility, located in Alice Springs, NT. This position is being offered on a full-time basis working 38 hours per week at a salary of $30.44 - $31.79 / hour gross base (dependent on qualifications and experience). This role will see you undertake a range of generalist handyman duties to keep our facilities in the best condition possible. This includes handyman duties such as painting, fillers, etc., and grounds maintenance including mowing, whippersnipping, weeding, etc. You will also provide support and guidance for external contracts who are on site to support the facility. This opportunity will suit a person who is proactive and leads by example. You will have previous experience in a maintenance or handyman environment and be able to commit to full-time hours. In addition, you will be comfortable working within an Aged Care facility and interacting respectfully with our residents. Skills & Experience:
  1. Previous experience in a trade/building maintenance or handyman role.
  2. Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office applications.
  3. Competent in the use of hand/power tools and light machinery.
  4. Sound understanding of A/C, plumbing, electrical & fire systems.
  5. Ability to reflect on own performance and seek guidance when required.
