- You are accountable for all the trade activities across category and channel in RSA, MOZ and Zambia.
- In close collaboration with the Marketing, Sales, Finance and Operational teams, you need to support growth in channels by turning brand strategies into commercial propositions.
- You own the shopper proposition, and you use your shopper understanding to deliver coordinated, innovative, cross-functional sales value to the customer..
- You will support the business with customer and consumer pricing, revenue growth, route to market, data and insights development and promotional optimization by leveraging existing and developing new tools to drive positive volume and financial impact.
- Lead the development of a channel strategy which is aligned to marketing (ATL), customer (BTL) and the wider business activities. This includes delivering pricing and route to market strategies that are linked to margin and volume growth.
- Develop and Implement a pricing strategy for all assigned channels that is linked to margin, mix and volume delivery.
- Develop clear channel strategies based on shopper insights, resulting in tangible value creation. With focus on: product, pack, price & promo strategy.
- Assist the customer team to develop compelling trade propositions to bring the strategy together
- Implement a POP strategy by category & sub-category & channel which provides direction to the field operations team.
- Support product portfolio development by assessing multiple dimensions (financial, competitive, channel) to identify opportunities to innovate, and by participating in the NPD process
- Through revenue growth, deliver white spaces margin accretive opportunities across pack and channels
- Insights, Intelligence & Analysis. Leverage: market, shopper and competitor insights to drive facts-based decision making.
- Lead and communicate pricing programs, through understanding trade margins by brand and pack (Internal), as well as by competitor brands & packs.
- Lead the development of the sales teams commercial acumen through profit stories, mix influence and strategic pricing management
- Bachelor’s degree in any field
- MBA (Full-time)
- 5-10 years customer / sales management experience within FMCG retail and the General Trade
- Category development experience across multiple channels
- Experience in developing revenue management strategies
- Experience in supporting route to market execution
