The Inventory and Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the execution of processes that support the manufacturing and movement of pharmaceutical products throughout the value chain. This role ensures accurate inventory management across the supply network and plays a crucial role in facilitating timely transactional activities, including goods receipts, issues, and product movements. As a key Subject Matter Expert (SME), the manager leads the design and development of processes, creating process maps, process design documentation, and training materials. Additionally, they serve as stewards of master data, actively managing and promoting Master Data Management practices to ensure data integrity across the supply chain. Key Responsibilities Process Execution and Data Stewardship- Work with suppliers, manufacturers, and third-party logistics providers to ensure timely and efficient execution of supply chain transactions across the value chain.
- Perform goods receipts, goods issues, transfers, and other goods movements in support of Supply Execution at external suppliers, warehouses and distribution centers.
- Work closely with the Quality team to ensure accurate product status for all inventory at third-party sites and assist in resolving any related issues.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and records.
- Collaborate closely with the Finance team to ensure accurate and correct inventory valuation throughout the value chain.
- Serve as the steward for Master Data Management supporting the flawless execution of Supply Chain process execution.
- Oversee the end-to-end pharmaceutical supply chain process design as a key Subject Matter Expert (SME), across the Value Chain.
- Develop Process Maps, Process Documentation, and Training materials supporting process execution across Value Chain.
- Create and own user training and development documentation supporting end user execution and ensure all users are trained and knowledgeable of all supply chain processes.
- Ensure adherence to pharmaceutical industry regulations, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Distribution Practices (GDP), and other relevant compliance standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all inventory transactions, including receipts, shipments, and goods movements.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess inventory accuracy and management, and process performance across the value chain.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline inventory and supply chain operation to help ensure inventory availability, reduce costs and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Evaluate current processes and identify opportunities for improvement in supply chain and inventory management practices.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continually enhance supply chain efficiency and inventory control.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred, with additional certifications in supply chain (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma, PMP).
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in supply chain, inventory management, or operations within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Experience working with supply chain management software and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or similar).
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical supply chain regulations and industry best practices.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
