Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) position within a Saudi investment group (family office) based in Riyadh with sophisticated and diversified investments (public equities, private equities, real estate, commodities, hedge funds, derivatives, etc.) distributed worldwide. The CAO is responsible for providing oversight, planning, and execution of the group's financial reporting, accounting, tax, and treasury functions. Also, he is responsible for the management of corporate budgets, forecasts, system software, and valuation analysis with communication and presentation to auditors and senior management. Regularly communicates all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost-benefit analysis, forecasting needs, and the securing of corporate funding. Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrates the highest standards of personal and professional integrity, adheres to group’s policies and procedures, and complies with applicable laws, government rules, and regulations.
  2. Continuously develops department staff by providing feedback and opportunities for professional growth. Evaluates individual/departmental performance and market conditions and makes necessary staff changes to ensure optimal productivity.
  3. Provides ongoing supervision of direct reports. Specific responsibilities include training and coaching, providing daily work direction, scheduling, performance evaluations, hiring, and salary administration.
  4. Conducts monthly presentations to the board of directors on Group forecasts and historical results.
  5. Oversees Corporate Accounting and Reporting as well as Investment, Treasury, and Cash Management functions; directly involved with all non-routine department decisions.
  6. Oversees the day-to-day management of corporate forecasting and modeling, including managing Group financial results, earnings projections, budget development, and five-year outlook.
  7. Manages Group's audit and tax functions.
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in accounting or equivalent professional knowledge and/or work experience. • The following license is required for this position: Certified Public Accountant (CPA). • This position requires at least 10 years of prior professional experience in accounting (preferably in an investment environment) inclusive of GAAP/SOCPA reporting. • Excellent people skills. • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook are required for this position. • Investment banking/treasury experience is a plus. Communication Skills: Fluency in English. In addition to English, fluency in Arabic would be a plus due to the diversity of business in terms of language and geographical distribution of assets.
