The UAE Accountant oversees the financial operations of both FZE and UAE entities, ensuring effective management of budgets, forecasting, reporting, and compliance. This role serves as a strategic partner to UAE operations, performing project accounting to drive financial performance and support business objectives. Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas Financial Reporting:

  1. Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for UAE in line with deadlines
  2. Prepare accurate project accounting analysis month to month for UAE projects
  3. Oversee budgeting and forecasting process across UAE FZE entities
  4. Ensure compliance across both FZE and UAE entities with corporate reporting standards and regional regulatory requirements
  5. Entry of supplier invoices and credit notes to accounts payable ledger
  6. Record Good Received Note in NAV
  7. Preparation of Payment Runs
  8. Treasury activities - posting of payments, maintenance of Bankbook, petty cash and bank reconciliations
  9. Assist in Preparation of Weekly Cash Activity report
  10. Dealing with / resolving supplier queries
  11. Vendor Down payment Clearance
  12. Reconciliation of supplier statements
  13. Record Intercompany Invoices
  14. Month End - Accrual of OPEN PO & Supplier Invoices
  15. Petty Cash Disbursement
  16. Filing of supplier invoices, statements & Payment/Petty Cash Vouchers
  17. Creation of Sales Invoices & Customer Follow ups
  18. Lead on Audits
  19. Adhoc duties as required by MEC Finance Manager
  20. Prepare Receivables Watch list reports
Operational Oversight:
  1. Collaborate with UAE operational teams to improve cost efficiency and profitability
  2. Adhere to the implementation of financial policies, procedures, and systems across UAE
Compliance and Risk Management:
  1. Ensure compliance with local tax, regulatory, and legal requirements delivering returns in line with local and regional deadlines
  2. Ensure business functions in line with the DOA and other control-based mechanisms
  3. Ensure monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  4. Support internal and external audits, addressing any findings effectively
Process Improvement:
  1. Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance accuracy
  2. Support the adoption of new technologies and tools for financial management
  3. Drive initiatives to improve financial information provided to support businesses in their decision-making process
Requirements Essential:
  1. Recognized Professional Accounting qualification/experience
  2. Proficiency in financial software and advanced MS Excel skills
  3. 10 years of relevant accounting experience
  4. Strong understanding of accounting principles and entries
  5. Industrial Services background with Project Accounting
  6. Strong knowledge of local and international financial reporting standards and regulations
  7. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders
