The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products and processes meet established quality standards and customer requirements. This role involves designing and implementing quality control systems, conducting inspections, analyzing data, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

  1. Quality Control and Assurance
    • Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, procedures, and controls.
    • Conduct inspections, tests, and audits to ensure compliance with quality specifications and regulations.
    • Analyze root causes of defects and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  2. Process Improvement
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
    • Use Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure quality improvement efforts.
  3. Documentation and Compliance
    • Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including inspection reports, test plans, and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
    • Support audits from internal teams, customers, and external regulatory bodies.
  4. Supplier and Customer Quality Management
    • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure material and component quality.
    • Address customer complaints or quality concerns and implement solutions to resolve issues.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure quality expectations are met.
  5. Product Testing and Validation
    • Design and execute testing protocols to evaluate product performance and reliability.
    • Analyze test results and provide recommendations to improve product quality.
    • Validate product changes or new designs to ensure they meet quality standards.
  6. Training and Support
    • Train employees on quality procedures, tools, and best practices.
    • Provide support to production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
    • Promote a culture of quality awareness throughout the organization.
Key Qualifications
  1. Education: Bachelors degree in Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Experience: 2-5 years of experience in quality engineering or a related role.
  3. Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of quality standards and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, APQP, FMEA).
    • Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS) and tools such as SPC, MSA, and CAPA.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams.
Work Environment
  • May involve working in office settings as well as manufacturing or production areas.
  • Occasional travel to supplier or customer locations may be required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Additional Requirements
  • Certifications such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or similar are a plus.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements specific to the industry (e.g., ISO 9001, TS16949, or FDA standards).
  • Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., Minitab) and data analysis tools is an advantage.
