Job Purpose To lead and manage all the relevant sourcing activities for the assigned category of spend in a timely and cost-effective manner, which meets the set group standards and department objectives. Essential Roles and Responsibilities

Strategic Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate all required activities within the assigned category of spend to achieve the lowest possible total cost of acquisition/ownership while matching business expectations in terms of quality and timelines.
  2. Ensure full compliance of all sourcing activities with internal policies and procedures.

Functional Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Build relationships with internal stakeholders to proactively plan sourcing activities related to the assigned category of spend.
  2. Clarify and negotiate the scope of work with internal stakeholders.
  3. Translate requirements/scope of work into Request for Information/Request for Proposals.
  4. Manage sourcing activities through the corporate e-sourcing platform as and when required.
  5. Ensure that the end-to-end sourcing process is performed with full transparency, integrity, and confidentiality as and when required.
  6. Negotiate the best cost, terms, and conditions against the final approved scope and shortlisted vendor(s).
  7. Perform quarterly vendor performance reviews with key vendors.
  8. Approve purchase orders raised by team members.

People Management Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Manage and coach sourcing specialists and procurement executives (1+1).
  2. Allocate activities/projects to team members and supervise execution.
  3. Ensure that direct report team members are strictly complying with Group procurement processes and policies.
  4. Help team members develop technical knowledge and best practices for the assigned spend category.
Job Requirements Education/Certification and Continued Education: Graduate (any discipline) Years of Experience: Min 5-7 years’ experience in a similar role within a procurement function, ideally within UAE in a centralized procurement model.

Knowledge and Skills

  1. Detailed technical understanding of the assigned commodity/category of spend.
  2. Outstanding relationship management skills (internal & external).
  3. Analytical and negotiation skills.
  4. Market understanding of vendor capabilities, should costs, supply chain, etc.
  5. Experience with ERPs is a must (preferable Oracle or JD Edwards).
  6. Experience with SAP Ariba sourcing is desired.
