- Permanent role, Parramatta based with hybrid work available Join Sydney Water as an Integrated Planning Manager , a senior leadership role within the System Planning and Land Acquisition (SP&LA) team. Greater Sydney and the water sector is experiencing an exciting period of challenge and opportunity. Growth, climate change, aging infrastructure, digitalisation and changing customer expectations create opportunities to develop new services and even greater value for communities. This role is crucial in ensuring that Sydney Water continues to provide high-quality drinking water and protects the environment for generations to come while also keeping customer bills affordable. You will have the opportunity to develop and optimize short, medium, and long-term plans for assets, systems, and regions, aligning with Sydney Water’s goals, obligations, and customer insights. Responsibilities:
- You will lead 3-4 x Planning Program Leads or Lead Planners. Indirect reports could be up to 10-15 Senior Planners, Planners, Graduate Planners and Undergraduate Planners.
- Support a matrix structure, utilising subject matter expertise both from within and outside of SP&LA.
- Develop infrastructure plans and monitor for new greenfield growth regions, and ensure infill service capacity is well understood and can facilitate housing and other growth as required.
- Participate in government led planning initiatives and develop water infrastructure plans for urban transformation areas and precincts that facilitate housing and employment in Greater Sydney e.g. GPOP, WSAGA, etc.
- Ensure Sydney Water remains cutting edge with innovative planning practices and tools that will create value for customers, improve efficiency and enhance adaptability to change, collaborating with other planning managers to lead and contribute to solution design and embed systemic improvements.
- Degree qualification in relevant discipline (engineering, urban planning, business, economics and/or science).
- Post-graduate qualification highly regarded.
- Approximately 10+ years relevant industry and leadership experience in the field of engineering and infrastructure management.
- Demonstrated competence in leadership at a senior level and strong ability to coach and develop the skills of others.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes and business improvement and act on opportunities for efficiencies.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to establish a high degree of credibility at all levels across organisations (internal and external).
