The AWS APAC transportation team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transportation Manager with a background in transport operations and health and safety to manage the day-to-day transportation operations for one of the fastest-growing industries in the world. This is an exciting opportunity to join an agile and driven team while ensuring the highest standards of services and safety compliance. An ideal candidate has a background in transportation operations and occupational health and safety, with excellent data-driven problem resolution skills. They should have experience implementing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and driving safety-first culture. The role requires exceptional communication skills and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment. Key job responsibilities VENDOR MANAGEMENT Act as point of escalation for transportation vendor related issues Manage vendor operational excellence through data driven metrics Implement and execute transportation strategies that support short and long term goals AUTOMATION ENHANCEMENT Influence internal technical teams to drive multi-system process changes Provide scalable solutions for continued growth Set project requirements and drive agendas across internal and external teams A day in the life In this role you will: Daily tactical communication with external vendors (Logistics Service Providers) and internal customers on operational and safety matters Maintain safety incident reporting systems and investigation procedures Analyze safety metrics and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities Work with multiple stakeholder teams to implement safety standards and best practices Drive continuous improvement in both operational efficiency and safety performance Ensure compliance with standards and regulations across transportation operations Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments of transportation operations BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Transportation, Safety Management, or related)3+ years' experience in transportation operations Strong understanding of transportation safety regulations and compliance requirements PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in cloud computing industry safety protocols Track record of implementing successful safety initiatives Transport and vendor management experience in international transportation (Air, ground, ocean) Proven ability to influence safety culture change Project management capabilities Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
