Job Description & Summary At PwC, our people in tax services focus on providing advice and guidance to clients on tax planning, compliance, and strategy. These individuals help businesses navigate complex tax regulations and optimise their tax positions. In indirect tax at PwC, you will focus on value-added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST), sales tax and other indirect taxes. Your work will involve providing advice and guidance to clients on indirect tax planning, compliance, and strategy, helping businesses navigate complex indirect tax regulations and optimise their indirect tax positions. Indirect Tax - Manager: A career in our Indirect Tax practice as a manager will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet and manage their tax obligations across unique but ever-changing tax specialties. You’ll advise clients and support them on their indirect tax compliance affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing dispute resolution, and global enterprise tax solutions. Our team helps our clients optimize cash flow and reduce risk by managing challenges related to indirect taxes. You’ll support our clients with all aspects of indirect taxation compliance requirements as well as onboarding them on the PwC indirect tax tool. Responsibilities As a Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting experience, helping our clients solve their complex business indirect tax issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of indirect tax compliance clients, while reporting to Directors and above.
- Be involved in the financial management of clients (i.e. risk, invoicing, collection etc).
- Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients, especially focusing on the priority clients.
- Develop project strategies to solve complex technical challenges for our clients.
- Support the team on onboarding the clients to the PwC ITX tool.
- Be actively involved in the deployment of the ITX tool while demonstrating its value proposition to the existing and prospective clients.
- Shape and deliver projects to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients and our own quality criteria.
- Train, coach, and supervise team members.
- Continue to develop internal relationships and develop your PwC brand.
- Previous work experience as a Manager at a Big 4 advisory firm (6+ years experience).
- Experience of GCC VAT (including VAT implementation).
- Professional Qualification preferable - GCC VAT Diploma / SOCPA VAT diploma.
- Experience of supporting clients with complex advisory matters (including RETT).
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other lines of service.
- Ability to manage the client portfolio and day-to-day queries of the clients.
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft family products.
- Experience of preparing and managing client proposals.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience of VAT compliance while using the digital tool is highly preferable.
