What you'll be doing The Chief Risk Officer and Legal Services Manager plays a pivotal role in leading risk management and legal services at WSLHD. This position ensures the District is prepared for risks, aligned with strategic goals, and supported by sound regulatory processes. Responsibilities as Chief Risk Officer and Legal Services Manager include:
  • Overseeing Enterprise Risk Management, General Insurance, and Legal Services.
  • Advising on risk assessment, mitigation, and strategic decision-making.
  • Guiding the Executive to align initiatives with the Board's risk appetite.
  • Providing high-level legal advice to the Chief Executive and stakeholders.
  • Building partnerships to support WSLHD’s growth, including Westmead Health Precinct.

  • Tertiary qualifications in risk management and/or experience in managing an enterprise risk management framework within a large and complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience acting as a change agent to drive organisational innovation and building positive, engaged and active behaviours around risk and legal services.
  • Demonstrated superior analytical skills and risk management expertise to provide timely, informed and strategic advice to Senior Executives.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to interpret and apply government processes and systems, including policy, statutory requirements and relevant risk management standards.
  • Understanding of how complex legal issues impact on large operational environments.
