Role Overview: The Python Data Engineer with SQL skills will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining efficient data pipelines, integrating data from diverse sources, and ensuring data quality and availability for downstream analysis. You will collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to support data needs across the organization. Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Pipeline Development : Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python, SQL, and other ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) technologies.
  • SQL Data Modelling : Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures to ensure efficient data retrieval and transformation.
  • Data Integration : Integrate data from diverse sources (databases, APIs, third-party systems, etc.) into the data warehouse or data lake using Python and SQL.
  • Data Warehousing : Assist in the design and management of data warehouse solutions, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Data Quality & Governance : Monitor data quality, implement data validation checks, and ensure data governance standards are met.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with Data Scientists, Analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and ensure the timely availability of clean, reliable data.
  • Automation : Automate data ingestion, processing, and reporting tasks using Python-based workflows and scripts.
  • Performance Optimization : Optimize SQL queries and Python code for improved performance and scalability.
  • Documentation : Document processes, workflows, and code to ensure knowledge sharing and transparency across teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Technical Expertise :
  • Strong proficiency in Python for data processing, ETL, and automation tasks.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization, data modeling, and working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, etc.).
  • Experience with ETL tools and frameworks such as Apache Airflow, Luigi, or custom Python scripts.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Google BigQuery, or similar).
  • Experience working with APIs and integrating data from external sources.
  • Data Engineering Skills :
  • Experience with data lake architecture and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Knowledge of data modeling best practices, and experience with schema design and indexing .
  • Soft Skills :
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in an Agile environment with a strong focus on deadlines and delivering results.
  • Adaptable to changing business needs and emerging technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineer or similar role.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar) is a plus.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools like Git.
  • Exposure to machine learning concepts and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-learn) is beneficial.
