Key Responsibilities

  • Handles communication with the different involved stakeholders, consulting with them and keeping them in the loop on all automation related matters.
  • Liaises with the solution architect, the change analyst, IT and the control functions on the implementation of the automation project.
  • Gets the different stakeholders buy-in of the process in scope.
  • Ensures securing the necessary approval from Risk and ISO before rolling out the automated process.
  • Facilitates regular meetings with business and control functions to prioritize, review and resolve important problems or identify areas of improvement.
Document and Implement Automation
  • Works collaboratively with all IT and controls groups to understand automation technical challenges and ensures translation of business requirements into technical documentation.
  • Captures ISO and Risk objectives and evaluates the technical requirements for implementing that automation.
  • Challenges the control functions on the benefits of the effectiveness of the proposed control and recommends alternatives when the expected outcome does not provide enough benefit to the automation.
  • Works with the automation architect to ensure to design solution and capitalize on shared resources available within the environment (code re-use).
  • Identifies the issues, risks and gaps within the process, and identifies the potential areas of improvement.
  • Conducts in-depth analysis on the existing processes and workflows, and evaluates the possible failures of each process activity.
  • Develops automation scripts in-line with business requirements and in a fashion that handles all possible outcomes from the underlying systems.
  • Models the to-be automation in a fashion to support the reporting requirements of the business.
  • Ensures the environment supports developing and testing the automation.
  • Works with the business analyst and the business to ensure the testing data is available to developer and test the solution.
  • Tests the solution and assists the business in conducting their testing (BAT).
  • Facilitates control function testing of the solution (ORM, and ISO penetration testing).
Manage Project Requirements Understands the priorities and escalates where necessary.
  • Supports the implementation of automation activities to ensure successful implementation.
Ensure accuracy and quality of reports and documentation submitted by the department.
  • Develops and delivers high quality customized communications in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitors SLAs and takes necessary actions to expedite where applicable.
Educational Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum academic qualifications of a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 4+ years of development experience supporting project in an enterprise environment.
  • 2+ years of development experience supporting project in a banking environment.
  • 2+ years of experience in automation development.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word, & Visio).
  • Experience in automation frameworks, tools and best practices (e.g. BluePrism, ABBYY, ITIL, COBIT, etc.).
Skills
  • Experience of working across multiple lines of business and across functional teams (Technology, Operations, Finance etc.) in a banking environment.
  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders in understanding the vision/Strategy of the area to embed and drive automation agenda.
  • Ability to collect, analyze and take decisions based on data collected.
  • Ability to monitor SLAs and take necessary actions to expedite where applicable.
  • Ability to develop complex business requirements using available automation tool.
  • Experience in close collaboration with the technology delivery teams in an agile environment (Business Analyst, Developers, Testers, Production Support staff and Architects).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage numerous stakeholders, negotiation of deadlines and requirements, management of expectation, recommendations, quality of outputs etc.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment, to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with business financial management, compliance and regulatory requirements, program management, change management and risk management.
  • Experience of working on conceptual briefs provided by an internal or external stakeholders and clients.
  • Experience in negotiation and conflict management.
  • Technical experience in change management, organization design, team effectiveness and project management.
