Job Description Wood is currently recruiting a Civil Engineer to be based in Bahrain, client Engineering office. Responsibilities
- Responsible for the study and preparation of site development plans including the earthwork calculations as well as the preparation of the BoQs related to the earthworks (excavation and backfill) under the direction of the Lead Civil / Structural Engineer
- Responsible for ensuring that all assigned activities are carried out within the stipulated man-hour budgets and time schedules
- Assist in the preparation of project related standards and job notes on assigned projects
- Perform engineering design calculations and prepares design sketches as required on assigned projects
- Review, comment on and approve drawings related to his field of activity
- Review and comment on supplier and other discipline drawings
- Attend progress meetings and assist in the preparation of project progress reports
- Advise supervising engineer of any slippages and their causes and proposed corrective action and any technical problems and unresolved differences with other groups
- Assist in the preparation of contract requisitions and schedules of quantity for Underground Utilities work on assigned projects
- Liaise with construction personnel and address site queries during construction
- Perform such duties as may reasonably be assigned by the lead or supervising Civil Engineer
- Perform all assigned work to agreed standards for safety, health environment and demonstrate a commitment to attaining high levels of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) performance
- Participate in and advise on all design activities and initiatives, including provision of training / inductions and documentation review
- Verify that all designs are to required standards, that the objectives of the project are met and that the work is completed to the agreed schedule
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- 8+ years' experience in the Oil and Gas industry
