Responsibilities:
- Lesson Planning & Instruction: Develop and deliver music lessons in areas such as music theory, vocal performance, instrumental techniques, music history, and composition. Tailor lessons to different age groups, abilities, and learning styles.
- Classroom Management: Create a positive, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that encourages active participation and creativity in musical activities.
- Skill Development: Teach both practical skills (instrument proficiency, vocal technique) and theoretical knowledge (music notation, harmony, rhythm), when needed.
- Performance Opportunities: Organize and direct student performances, including concerts, recitals, or community events. Encourage participation in school bands, choirs, orchestras, or other ensembles.
- Collaboration: Work with other staff, including music colleagues, administrators, and parents, to ensure student success and integrate music education into the broader school curriculum.
- Administrative Tasks: Maintain student records, lesson plans, and other necessary documentation. Follow school policies regarding attendance, grading, and communication with parents.
