JOB PURPOSE: The job role forms a key part of Group Credit by recommending new credit and extensions of credit facilities through analysis of financial documents and provides support to the UAE branches. Key accountabilities include credit review of mortgage loans. Core Responsibilities:
- Develop proposals related to credit transactions and risks based on clients' financial information reviewed through related documents.
- Evaluate clients' credit data and information, and financial statements in order to determine the degree of risk associated with the account and facilitate the decision-making process based on creditworthiness.
- Ensure that the credit documentation is complete for the purpose of facilitating the application process and ensure approvals on the same are obtained from delegated authority.
- Manage the exception level (insufficient/deferred security documents and exception reports) efficiently and within the specified standards and timelines.
- Ensure timely and accurate productivity reports are maintained and forwarded on a timely basis to the reporting manager.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements and internal and external reporting obligations in line with policy guidelines to ensure high standards of uniformity and consistency across FAB. Adhere to policies, processes, and procedures of FAB along with Central Bank Regulations.
- Define performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensure that the goals are achieved during the course of the year.
- Identify training and development requirements for self and agree on them with the reporting manager to ensure that the required trainings are arranged and attended.
- Strive to achieve the highest levels of proficiency on all the competencies and skills required to perform the role.
- Keep abreast of professional developments, new techniques, and current issues through related trainings.
- Maintain professionalism and effective communication with colleagues within the unit and all other departments.
- Adhere to your individual duties and responsibilities at all times.
- Analyze clients' financial statements, bank statements, and/or audited statements and review clients' credit history to meet the bank's lending standards.
- Ensure completeness and correctness of documentation in order to avoid fraud.
- Minimize risk by maintaining underwriting quality and ensure that proposed amounts are in line with the bank policy.
- Highlight credit risks/mitigants and ensure deviations are captured as per policy while recommending proposals for approval to the line manager.
- Ensure all system checks are performed correctly and reviewed as per process.
- Ensure information is correctly reflected in CAS before changing the stage to the next level for approval.
- Ensure to process applications within agreed timelines.
- Perform EV CPV where applicable.
- Execute any other responsibilities entrusted by the line manager.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Banking, or any related discipline.
- 3 years of relevant experience including 1 year in a similar role.
