Join our team and play a vital role in supporting public health initiatives focused on the Healthy Wäŋa (Homes) Project, which includes the Rheumatic Fever Strategy (RFS) and the Miwatj Environmental Health Program (MEHP). In this role, you’ll contribute to the planning and implementation of new activities and innovative strategies to achieve key program goals. Your work will target the environmental factors that influence health outcomes, helping to make a meaningful difference in community well-being. This role is full-time, fixed term until 30 June 2025.     • Ability to salary package up to $15,900 per annum plus a further $2,650 per annum on Meals and Entertainment

    About Miwatj Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling Yolŋu powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations. The Healthy Wäŋa (Homes) Project Officer Candidates must have an understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control, self-determination, and the issues faced by Yolŋu people living in remote settings; Diploma or extensive experience in health promotion, principles and social determinants, in public health or related discipline in an Aboriginal public setting; Demonstrated experience implementing health promotion activities in an Aboriginal public health setting.
