Working closely with the Mayor and Elected Members, the CEO’s key accountabilities include:

1. Implementing Council’s directions consistent with the Strategic Community Plan, Long-Term Financial Plan, Annual Budget, and Capital Works Programs.
2. Ensuring Council’s human, physical and financial resources are effectively managed.
3. Providing services efficiently and effectively, meeting customer needs and Council requirements.
4. Providing organisational leadership that promotes a high performing workplace culture.
5. Administering the City’s legal, statutory, risk and compliance obligations.

Council’s expectation is that the next CEO will already possess the full suite of competencies and the high-level executive experience required to be successful in a position such as this. A key focus area for the CEO will be leading a range of economic development initiatives, as well as high-level engagement with a range of important strategic stakeholders. In return, the incoming CEO will inherit a truly outstanding and high performing organisation and a stable and united Council. The position will be offered on the basis of an employment contract of up to 5 years duration with a total remuneration package to be negotiated within the SAT’s range for Band 1 Local Government CEOs of $350,000 to $390,810.
