SANSA runs an internship and in-service training programme in which graduates and students who are seeking experience are offered an opportunity to acquire practical work experience through mentoring and coaching. SANSA has a learning opportunity in the electronics engineering area of specialisation at the Hartebeesthoek. Duties:
- Operate, maintain, and monitor antenna systems, radiofrequency (rf), electronic telecommunications, and computer hardware or software systems and equipment associated with satellite ground station operations
- Participate in rendering specialised tracking, telemetry and command (TT&C) launch support services to SLVs(Satellite launch vehicles), transfer-orbit support (TOS), launch and early-orbit phase (LEOP), emergency, in-orbit test (IOT) services, routine life-cycle support operations, etc
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance and first-line reactive maintenance to SANSA-owned or stakeholder or customer-owned systems, equipment and infrastructure
- Participate in ad-hoc project tasks
- Three-year Diploma or Degree in Electronic Engineering with good academic results
- Coursework in telecommunications and satellite communications will be advantageous
- Graduate in search of internship training to gain work experience
- A good understanding of microwave principles, applications, and telecommunications
- Proficient in English language and good communication skills
- Computer literacy and basic proficiency with MS Word and Excel
- Must be able to use both hands and have good vision
- Ability and willingness to work shifts which include nights, weekends, public holidays, and sometimes, 7-day stay-in
- Should be 35 years of age or younger at the time of submitting of application;
- Be a South African citizen; and
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
