Software Development Engineer in Testing

Job Title: Software Development Engineer in Testing (Manual & Automation) About the job As a SDET, you will interact with the engineering team to solve problems, build, extend, and optimize our growing products. This will involve working on our existing codebase along with new projects. We have a highly passionate engineering-driven environment where your contribution will be felt immediately. Location: Remote Key Responsibilities: ● Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases. ● Perform Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing, and End-to-End (E2E) Testing. ● Develop and maintain automation scripts using tools such as Jest, Cypress, and Selenium. ● Write and execute test scripts in TypeScript and ensure coverage for critical functionality. ● Collaborate with the development team to create robust test cases for applications built with React.js and Node.js. ● Analyze test results, identify bugs, and work with the development team for timely fixes. ● Manage and validate MySQL database queries for data consistency and validation testing. ● Report defects, track their progress, and perform re-testing. ● Continuously improve test coverage, automation efficiency, and testing processes. ● Participate in sprint planning, design reviews, and stand-ups to align testing strategies with project requirements. ● Brainstorm, contribute new ideas, conceive innovative strategies, and implement solutions to difficult problems. ● Keep up to date with best industry practices and lead adopting new technologies. ● Set high standards for monitoring and getting to know challenges faced by customers and improving the experience. Required Skills & Qualifications: ● Demonstrated Automation Testing experience of 4-6 years in Web Portal & Backend API testing using Selenium/Cypress. ● Ability to read documentation of unfamiliar tools and technologies and write test cases based on that. ● Proficiency in automation testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, and Selenium. ● Solid understanding of TypeScript for writing test cases. ● Resource mocking for writing unit test cases. ● Basic knowledge of Node.js and React.js to assist in creating and testing application components. ● Hands-on experience with MySQL for database testing. ● Strong knowledge of testing methodologies including Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing, and E2E Testing. ● Experience in Database Testing. ● Identify, record, document, and track bugs to resolution. ● Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for integrating automated tests. Preferred Skills: ● Experience with other automation tools or libraries as needed. ● Understanding of API testing using tools like Postman. ● Exposure to performance or load testing frameworks. Education: ● B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent from a reputed college.
