Selection Criteria
1. Proven ability to conduct and analyse comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, write reports when/as required and develop strategies and intervention plans to ensure optimal outcomes and classroom engagement. 2. Demonstrated ability to implement individual and group evidence based occupational therapy interventions for students with motor, sensory, executive functioning and emotional challenges, helping them to improve their participation and engagement in school activities and enhance their overall well-being. 3. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, (including classroom teachers, teachers of the deaf, speech pathologists, and psychologists) to design and implement effective evidence based interventions that address students' needs. 4. Strong skills in working with families to provide guidance, resources, and support that fosters student development both in school and at home, promoting a holistic approach to student growth. 5. Active participation in Individual Education Plan meetings, contributing to the development of personalised educational goals and ensuring that the therapeutic strategies align with each student's specific needs and objectives.Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate occupational therapist to join our team at Mount View Primary School. In this role, you will work closely with students who are deaf/hard of hearing, as well as their families, classroom teachers, teachers of the deaf, speech pathologists and psychologists. You will provide targeted occupational therapy services to students who may also face additional challenges including but not limited to motor planning, dyslexia, working memory, sensory processing differences, executive function, theory of mind, attention. This position involves a collaborative approach to ensure each student's individual needs are met, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. You will have access to a wide range of resources and support to help you succeed in making a meaningful impact on students' development and learning.Responsibilities
- Conduct and analyse assessments to identify and support students’ physical, social-emotional and cognitive development and to improve their participation in school activities.
- Provide individual and group evidence based occupational therapy interventions for students with diverse needs.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, including classroom teachers, teachers of the deaf, speech pathologists, and a psychologist, to design and implement tailored therapeutic strategies.
- Work with families to provide guidance and resources that will support student development both in school and at home.
- Monitor and assess students' progress, adjusting strategies and interventions as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Participate in IEP (Individual Education Plan) meetings and contribute to the development and monitoring of personalised educational goals.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent).
- Current registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working with children, particularly those with hearing loss and additional learning challenges.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of assistive technologies and strategies to support students with learning difficulties.
- Empathy, patience, and a passion for working with students to help them reach their full potential.

School Overview 2025 Mount View Primary School , established in 1965, is situated in the suburb of Glen Waverley . The projected 2025 enrolment is 920 students. This figure includes 28 students enrolled in the school’s Deaf Facility . The school is proud of the diverse cultural representation which reflects the characteristics of the local community.
