Quality Assurance Manager
Job details
Location: East Cheshire/South Liverpool area Salary: £35-50k depending on experience plus bonus This is a low risk, growing manufacturer in the food industry. You might not get all the bells and whistles of some of the big corporate groups here, but the company uses its size to its advantage, being agile and quick to react to customers' needs. With a team that’s doubled in size in the past 5 years, an expanding customer base both in the UK and overseas, and some big new projects in the pipeline for 2025, this is a time of change for the business. If your priorities in a move include excellent staff retention, recognition for hard work that goes beyond just a pat on the back and a business that can offer stability, healthy finances and a good sprinkling of ambition, then you won't go far wrong here. In this QA Manager role, you’ll manage a small team, whilst leading BRCGS audit standards, HACCP/VACCP/TACCP and all food safety projects. You’ll keep quality risk assessments updated, manage onsite allergens, work with the Production Manager in site compliance checks and conduct supplier audits. The audits range from Somerset to Sweden – but expect to travel a few days every couple of months. This isn’t a business that gets many complaints, but if any arise, you’ll need to deal with them professionally – that means being a strong communicator who can take unexpected scenarios in your stride. We’ll need to see at least 5 years’ Quality experience within a food manufacturing environment, a minimum of level 3 HACCP, a strong understanding of QMS and experience of relevant GFSI standards. Whether you've led audits or just been heavily involved in audits is something we're leaving open - if you have the rest of the experience we're looking for, this might be a great next step forward for your career.
