Electrical, Instrument & Controls (EC&I) Engineer Location: Grangemouth & Edinburgh (with occasional travel) Contract: Permanent Salary: Competitive Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are partnering with a leading innovator in the biotech and process industry to recruit an Electrical, Instrument & Controls (EC&I) Engineer. This role is instrumental in the design, development, and commissioning of next-generation process plants, with a focus on automation, instrumentation, and electrical design. The Opportunity:

- Produce C&I designs for Feasibility Studies & FEED stages
- Develop instrumentation indexes, wiring drawings, loop diagrams, and load schedules
- Select and specify process control hardware (pressure, temperature, level instruments, control valves)
- Evaluate contractor work to ensure compliance with industry standards & regulatory requirements
- Lead and support HAZOP & LOPA workshops
- Assist in project procurement, including tendering, negotiations, and supplier management
- Provide electrical design support for plant upgrades and modifications
- 5-10 years’ experience in C&I engineering within EPC or process industries
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar electrical design software
- Knowledge of ATEX/DSEAR standards & process safety
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously and collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team
- Full UK driving licence & right to work in the UK
- Electrical Panel Design
- Experience with PLC/DCS configuration
- CompEx certification
