Our tagline, “Down to Earth / Up to the Challenge,” says a lot about who we are. We are seeking a skilled Construction Engineer to be based on-site with our client in Gladstone, Queensland. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil and geotechnical engineering, and construction management, with experience providing advice on construction methodology, planning, sequencing, site management, and quality management. Responsibilities:
- Preparing, reviewing, and revising construction documents, including specifications and contract drawings.
- Overseeing the entire construction effort to ensure projects are completed according to established design, budget, schedule, and quality parameters.
- Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, technical consultants, design teams, contractors, and construction delivery teams, to develop solutions and resolve technical issues.
- Planning, coordinating, and supervising field activities.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Monitoring and regularly reporting on project progress.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Construction Management.
- CPEng / RPEQ certification or eligibility to apply within 12 months of joining.
- Demonstrated experience in construction management within the mining or civil infrastructure sectors.
- Strong communication, leadership, teamwork, and client service skills are essential.
- First-hand experience working on the construction of tailings and civil infrastructure projects.
- Enthusiasm to learn and increase your technical skills and professional experience.
- Working knowledge of relevant engineering design standards, codes, best practice guidelines, and technical references.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, including experience writing proposals and technical reports.
- Exceptional team spirit, interpersonal skills, and ability to build long-term, successful relationships with our clients.
