Global Peace Development (GPD) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in April 2002 and focuses on promoting peace for development in Nigeria. The organization envisions a country where peace and development is enjoyed by all. GPD seek to build peace, gender equality, social justice, and foster democracy and governance at the community, local, state, and national levels. Our core programme areas include; Gender Equality, Conflict Prevention and Peace Building, Democracy and Governance, Environment and Community Health, and Sustainable Development.

Global Peace Development works actively in ten (10) States across Nigeria (namely, FCT, Adamawa, Taraba, Yobe, Nasarawa, Kaduna, Kano, Ebonyi, Cross River, Delta, and Edo).

About the Initiative

Global Peace Development (GPD), in collaboration with the Global Community Engagement and Resilient Fund (GCERF), invites eligible organizations or individuals to apply for a partnership opportunity. GPD will be responsible for the selection of organizations and monitoring of the project implementation

Eligibility Criteria: Organizations or individuals applying for this call must:

  • Be legally registered in Nigeria and operate in one of the following states: Yobe, Kano, Kaduna, Adamawa, Nasarawa, Abuja, and Taraba.
  • Have experience in project implementation in peacebuilding, community development, gender equality, or related fields.
  • Demonstrate a track record of accountability, transparency, and financial management.
  • Have the capacity to implement and monitor community-based interventions effectively.
How to Apply: Interested individuals or organizations should email a maximum 2-page plan or a maximum 5-minute video detailing how they would use the 2,000 USD as a CBLA awardee.

The application must specify which pillar(s) their project aligns with:

  • PILLAR 1: Support the development of a small, women-led local and grassroots organization through essential means such as operations, training, office payments, or technology purchases.
  • PILLAR 2: Develop leadership skills and/or enable the promotion of women into leadership positions.
  • PILLAR 3: Identify and support women from communities vulnerable to violent extremism (VE) to establish and/or run their existing initiatives.
Application Questions: Applicants must answer the following:
  • What is your history or background, or that of your organization?
  • If successful, how will you use the 2024-2025 CBLA award?
  • How will the CBLA allow you to contribute to women’s empowerment? What pillar does it touch on and how?
  • How will the CBLA help prevent violent extremism?
  • Are you officially registered as a civil society organization? (If yes, submit your official registration documents.)
Selection Process:
  • Applications will be reviewed by Global Peace Development (GPD), which will be responsible for the selection process.
  • GPD will conduct due diligence on the selected partner.
  • GPD will select and award the 2025 CBLA.
Additional Details:
  • Awardees must provide a summary of their implementation progress halfway through and at the end of the award process.
  • Only women-led organizations or individual women are eligible to apply.
