We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering design within the building services sector, with previous experience on commercial, residential, or industrial projects. The candidate will be responsible for designing electrical systems for various building projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security systems, and other specialized electrical installations for building projects.
- Prepare detailed electrical drawings and schematics, ensuring compliance with applicable building codes and regulations.
- Specify materials and components, including cables, transformers, panels, and switchgear.
- Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within the building design.
- Conduct site assessments to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Work closely with contractors and other teams during construction and installation to ensure designs are properly implemented.
- Assist with project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases.
- Perform electrical load calculations and energy analysis to optimize design efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure all designs meet local codes, standards (such as IEC, NEC), and client specifications.
- Conduct regular design reviews and ensure designs comply with environmental and safety regulations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure designs remain cutting-edge and compliant.
- Resolve any electrical design-related issues that arise during construction or operation.
- Offer solutions to challenges in electrical system integration, functionality, or cost efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design engineering, specifically within the building services sector.
- Strong knowledge of electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, or similar tools).
- Familiarity with building regulations, safety standards, and electrical codes (NEC, BS7671, etc.).
- Previous experience with building projects (commercial, residential, or industrial) is essential.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, emergency systems, and renewable energy integration.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Professional accreditation or membership (e.g., IET, CIBSE, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) for electrical design.
- Knowledge of energy-efficient and sustainable electrical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
