Direct the implementation of the annual business plan and targets and implement the strategic agenda of the Supply Chain department to deliver NADEC vision and mission. Ensure that the strategy is translated into operational business plans for the Merchandising department and monitor the performance and execution of those plans to achieve functional objectives and deliver the company’s strategy.

Leadership

  • Direct the activities of the Merchandising team to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, in line with the strategic project management plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Build and lead a motivated, engaged, and competent team by setting priorities and objectives, managing performance, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching to meet the functional challenges and goals.
Serve as a role model to ensure employees’ awareness and commitment to NADEC vision, mission, values, and corporate strategy to establish a highly engaged and motivated team and continuously improve performance.

Budgeting

Lead the preparation of the department budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
  • Prepare, align, and implement execution plans for teams and ensure agreed plans (Coverage, Route plan, Headcount, in-store execution & reporting) are achieved, to ensure achievement of regional Merchandising and Sales objectives.
  • Develop and deploy a field visit schedule to monitor team performance on the ground while ensuring in-store checks and audits are conducted to identify gaps and ensure compliance with Merchandising plans, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ensure Merchandising tasks are implemented to the set standards (Rotation, Cleaning, Replenishment, Planogram implementation, Pricing, Isolation (Damage, Expiry, and Cutoff Date), BDA Implementation, Backdoor arrangement).
  • Smartphone System Compliance (Ensuring team members are using the company-provided system properly).
  • Conduct daily checks of reports uploaded on the portal to make sure all the metrics are achieved (Absenteeism, Route plan compliance, Reports completeness & accuracy) and design and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Organize and distribute key tasks and set deadlines for the team (Ad hoc requests).
  • Capture and report to Merchandising Manager (through a systematic weekly report) all the feedback (market intelligence, competitor activities, KPI’s achievement, performance concerns, key achievements) received from related field teams.

People Management Accountabilities

Ensure that all subordinates have clear objectives, constructive and accurate performance feedback sessions, formal annual performance appraisals, and individual development plans. Adhere to the direction for the development and implementation of organizational unit’s policies, systems, processes, and procedures, identifying potential areas of improvement to ensure efficient and effective operation. Comply with corporate requirements on adherence to policies, procedures, and instructions related to all relevant regulatory directives to ensure a safe and risk-free environment.

Change Management

Motivate the employees and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices considering best practices. Ensure that all departmental reports and statements are completed timely and comply with local and international principles of governance and the organization's policies and standards.

JOB CONTEXT

  • Team Leader - Merchandising will be working in the allocated regional sales office and will travel to other NADEC locations as per business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Education and Certifications

Bachelor’s Degree in sales/marketing or related field.

Experience:

3-4 years’ relevant experience in Merchandising.
