Key Responsibilities:

  1. Promote and drive the involvement of Construction in areas of technical design, schedule, preliminary execution planning, and cost estimating.
  2. Develop and maintain a familiarity and appreciation of capability and ongoing workload Construction support providers / contractors.
  3. Develop and maintain functional responsibility for all construction and completions personnel with the region’s Hydrocarbons sector.
  4. Overall supervision of structural engineers.
  5. Technical competence of structural personnel.
  6. Forecast requirement for structural engineering resources, and allocate those resources.
  7. Structural design integrity of work scope and maintenance of standards.
  8. Identify structural software necessary to enable structural group to function effectively.
  9. Prepare structural discipline manhour estimates to perform project tasks.
  10. Manage structural engineering design and any design changes within budget and schedule.
  11. Evaluate new technology advancements against existing design standards and revise where applicable.
  12. Promote cost reduction and productivity enhancing initiatives.
  13. Technical supervision of project designated structural designers and draftsmen in the execution of their duties.
  14. Prepare weekly structural progress and expenditure reports on a project specific basis.
  15. Benchmark structural design/drafting to identify areas of improvements.
  16. Manage design change within project budget and schedule framework.
  17. Check compliance with Alliance QA/safety/environment goals.
  18. Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the BU.
  19. Safety – Responsible for personal safety and safe working practices for the BU. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering.
  2. Experienced within the oil and gas industry in construction management.
  3. A proven track record and demonstrable success in the management of HSE in major projects.
  4. Field / Site exposure in construction projects.
