We are seeking a Transport Planning Manager with a good appreciation and understanding of the market in UAE and KSA, including good knowledge of wider transport planning issues. This is an exciting opportunity to join an accomplished team and work on a range of groundbreaking and innovative projects for a wide variety of clients. Acting as the transport planning/engineering lead on TIS/TMP master planning, traffic engineering planning, and parking projects, and much more. The duties fall broadly into two categories: Team Management and Technical Leadership and Management. Key duties are as follows:
Technical Leadership and Management
- Be aware of and adhere to relevant legislation, codes of practice, and departmental policies when planning and directing the delivery of transport modelling related projects in the region, in particular Abu Dhabi and KSA.
- Continuously improve technical and industry knowledge by participating in forums and other industry-related programs.
- Interact and coordinate with other business lines on various multidisciplinary projects.
- Manage the preparation of client reports, bringing together the contributions from other specialist areas of the business while supervising the workload of the team.
- Develop Technical and Financial Proposals and take on Project Management for delivery of transport planning tasks and projects.
- Develop detailed methodologies for carrying out transportation planning works on multidisciplinary projects.
- Produce and deliver presentations to clients and teams.
- Review internal processes for effectiveness and efficiency and suggest possible areas for improvement where necessary.
Team Management
- Someone who has team leadership skills can mentor and develop others to help grow and strengthen the team and individuals.
- Effectively represent AECOM to relevant government departments, external agencies, and other bodies appropriate to the post.
- Plan, direct, and deliver the services in accordance with appropriate procedures and legislation.
- Develop and implement initiatives to enhance AECOM's Transport Planning services offering, product, and supporting infrastructure (e.g., software modelling tools, capability statement, etc.).
- Maintain a watching brief on best working practices within and beyond local government and ensure these are effectively communicated to the team.
Minimum Requirements
- 15 years minimum experience.
- Middle East experience would be advantageous.
