Messaging Services Engineer 12-month contract Role Overview Dedicated to our Customer based in south Dublin, this is a minimum 12-month requirement for an experienced Messages Services Engineer. Local Market Delivery Engineer. Define, design and implement solutions in the area of Messaging Services to cope with Business requirements and technology evolution inside the European Region. To satisfy local and global marketing requirements in the area of Messaging Services, including SMS, MMS, Voicemail, IP Messaging evolution (SMSoIP) as well as Cell Broadcast public alerting services. Responsible to construct/maintain HLD and LLD according to project needs. Collaborate with local and remote cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of messaging services. Strong understanding of messaging protocols and network architecture. Define and execute test plan to ensure services operational excellence. Monitor system performance and propose improvements as needed. Participate and support dry-run and/or service cutover activities. Messaging Service Evolution. To drive Messaging Services features and platforms evolution inside the European Region, boosting harmonization and centralization strategies, relying on Network Function Virtualization architectures and contributing in cross-country Messaging Services Evolution projects in cooperation with other OpCos within the European Region. Vendor Management. To coordinate and manage e2e vendor activities, in order to guarantee projects time to market and compliancy to user requirements. Consistent tracking, detection and evaluation of technology trends, identify needs and initiate new processes or solution adjustments, including the introduction of new cost-effective technologies and projects. To drive Messaging Platforms evolution towards Network Function Virtualization architecture Key Accountabilities Key accountabilities and decision ownership Demand Management. Define, design and implement solutions to fit Business requirements Vendor Management, external and internal suppliers, ensuring the delivery of services Collaboration with national and international peers at Technology or Commercial areas and Executives within various Telecommunications national companies, Network Strategy & Engineering and other Group or Local Market teams. Solutions Design & Implementation, including Certification & testing activities and post deployment support. Messaging Services Architecture definition and evolution. Ensure the correct sizing and capacity of the messaging system Essential Skills & Qualifications Career degree - Computer Science or Telecommunications High level of written and spoken English Knowledge of telecoms technologies, Core Network, Value Added Services, Network Function Virtualization, DevOps/Agile delivery frameworks, Cloud & Containerized environments. Ability to work in a changing environment managing multiple & changing priorities Project Management Certification (preferred) Required competencies, knowledge and experience Telecommunications Network design and delivery experience will be highly considered. Long-standing (over 5 years) professional experience Cross-functional and multi-cultural collaboration. Ability to work independently and as part of a team Delivering results, Manage a changing environment, Customer oriented Strong expertise in Messaging Services Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
