Job Summary
The Chief Operating Officer is a vital role within the Gulf University, Kingdom of Bahrain, responsible for overseeing various departments and ensuring seamless operational processes.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to the President on key issues affecting the university.
- Supervise staff administrative activities across the university.
- Oversee the Finance, Human Resources, IT, Facilities, and Purchasing departments.
- Facilitate administrative processes and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Develop and implement academic strategic planning in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Manage all financial aspects, including budgeting, forecasting, and collection processes.
- Be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of buildings and grounds, including repairs, construction, and remodeling projects.
- Oversee all purchases, including instructional materials, furniture, supplies, technology software, etc.
- Manage staff salaries and benefits, ensuring compliance with government regulations and university policies.
- Lead personnel operations, including recruitment, contracting, termination, training, development, and induction programs for administrative staff.
- Take disciplinary actions as necessary and submit an annual report on the University's administrative and financial operations to the President.
Requirements:
- A high professional reputation.
- A Ph.D. recognized by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
- Appropriate academic and administrative experience.
- Good conduct and behavior, with no convictions for crimes involving moral turpitude or dishonesty (unless legally rehabilitated).
- Fitness in terms of health.
- No acts that would harm the reputation of the Kingdom of Bahrain or its interests at home or abroad.
- No political affiliations or involvement in political activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High administrative, guiding, and systematic decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create and maintain effective work relationships with staff.
