  1. Maintains a high level of knowledge and expertise in Health, Safety and Environment matters in order to provide the Reginal HSEQ Manager and the site with appropriate advice and support.
  2. Responsible for maintaining and facilitating continuous improvement in all aspects of the site’s HSE management systems and standards, in line with the group’s systems and policies.
  3. Provides managers and employees with information on legislative and Corporate compliance, advises on ways of meeting statutory requirements and Corporate HSE Policies and national codes of practice.
  4. Responsible for the investigation and review of significant accidents, incidents, complaints and pollution events, and the identification of solutions to prevent recurrence. Drives close out of issues and non-conformances.
  5. Supports the Crisis Incident Management (CIM) process for HSE issues by carrying out formal risk assessments and reports into the site’s Green Team.
  6. Takes an active part in the site HSE committee.
  7. Drives the HSE agenda for the site; addresses issues and determines the site requirements for improvements.
  8. Approves SOPs relating to HSE where required.
  9. Provides and advises on appropriate site HSE training as required.
  10. Audits, monitors and reviews the implementation of Health and Safety policies, working practices, safety procedures and standards for all respective operations as directed by the Compliance Manager and Central Compliance team.
  11. Co-ordinates all site audits through the Central Audit Team and accompanies auditors on site.
  12. Collates data and information and reports on site’s HSE performance.
  13. Drives risk assessment processes to continuously improve site’s health and safety performance.
  14. Represents the site for regulatory health, safety & environmental authorities.
  15. Proactively manages the site’s Accident & Incident Reporting Systems, making recommendations for future improvements to prevent recurrence where necessary.
  16. Interface with regulatory authorities and insurers on key matters such as fire risk assessment and certification, environmental management, emergency planning and safety improvement plans.
  17. Maintain close liaison with Occupational Health (HSE) and Human Resources (HR) to ensure H & S provisions are met and understood.
  18. Work on implementing of ISO 45001 and 14001 in the site.
