Job Summary: The Investment Associate will be responsible for supporting the investment team in sourcing, analyzing, and evaluating investment opportunities. The role involves working closely with the senior investment professionals to conduct due diligence, prepare investment recommendations, and assist with portfolio management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the startup ecosystem, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting market research and analysis to identify potential investment opportunities and carry out initial assessment.
  2. Conducting sector and technology mapping and advising the senior member of the team to develop areas of focus.
  3. Analyzing financial statements and business models to evaluate investment opportunities.
  4. Supporting the senior members of the team in conducting in-depth financial and commercial due diligence.
  5. Contributing to valuation, deal negotiation, and structuring exercises of potential investments.
  6. Contributing to the preparation of investment memorandums and presentations for the investment committee.
  7. Contributing to the closing of investment deals and review of definitive agreements.
  8. Developing investment theses on each transaction, social media blogs, and press releases.
  9. Actively monitoring existing investments and developing reports on portfolio health and performance.
  10. Working with other functions towards a unified organizational goal.
  11. Supporting the senior members of the team in administrative tasks on an ad hoc basis.
  12. Building and maintaining relationships with entrepreneurs, industry experts, and other venture capital firms.
  13. Contributing to the overall strategy and development of the firm.
Requirements: Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in finance, business, engineering, or relevant field.
  2. 4-6 years of experience in startups, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital.
  3. Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  4. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  5. Knowledge of the startup ecosystem and emerging technologies.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  7. Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  8. Familiarity with industry databases and research tools.
Working Conditions: The Investment Associate will work in a fast-paced environment, often under tight deadlines. The job may require occasional travel to meet with entrepreneurs or attend industry events.
