We develop, promote and manage the conduct of the racing of thoroughbred horses in Victoria to safeguard its integrity. RV also oversees Racing.com Media (RDCM), which creates and distributes racing media content. We are currently seeking a General Manager – Risk & Safety to lead our risk, safety, and insurance services across RV and the RV Group at both strategic and operational levels. About the Role As General Manager – Risk & Safety, you will manage RV’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), ensuring the identification, mitigation, and management of financial and non-financial risks. A critical focus will be fostering a culture of good corporate governance, risk minimisation, and business transparency. Key Responsibilities
- Embed RV’s risk appetite across the business, ensuring alignment with operational strategies and decision-making.
- Implement and manage RV’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), integrating key risks into strategic planning.
- Collaborate with business units to identify, assess, and manage operational, compliance, and emerging risks.
- Oversee risk reporting software (ReadiNow) and lead projects embedding Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) solutions.
- Manage risk and safety reporting, including actionable insights for the Board and senior stakeholders.
- Oversee Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) initiatives for RV’s workforce and the broader Victorian racing industry.
- Manage RV’s insurance programs and complete annual Modern Slavery Reports for the RV Board and subsidiaries.
- Lead and develop team members while acting as a trusted partner to stakeholders on risk and safety matters.
- Extensive experience managing enterprise risk frameworks within complex organisations.
- Proven ability to assess and mitigate financial, operational, and compliance risks.
- Demonstrated expertise in corporate governance, risk management, and OHS principles.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders.
- Knowledge of insurance program management, including renewals and claims.
- Experience preparing reports for Boards and senior executives.
- Familiarity with modern slavery reporting requirements is advantageous.
