The Opportunity We’re scaling our Platform team and looking for a Software Engineer to join us. As a Software Engineer with Visory, you’ll work in an agile environment where your creativity will be encouraged, and you’ll be given the opportunity to deliver cutting-edge architecture and initiatives that are robust and which our customers love. On a daily basis, you will collaborate with your colleagues on the Platform team to determine the best ways to build new features, playing a crucial role in the development of the Visory platform. With our constantly evolving roadmap, you will actively contribute to shaping the future of our platform. We operate an AWS serverless environment and use NodeJS, TypeScript, and Angular. On an average day, you can expect to:
- Work in a highly collaborative, cross-functional agile environment with our engineering and product teams
- Connect with the wider engineering team during the daily stand up
- Working as a member of a Scrum team, you will collaborate with your colleagues in our Platform team to deliver frequent releases
- Analyse and make informed recommendations to solve problems
- Proactively drive your development work, including technical debugging
- Contribute to strategic discussion, sharing your feedback and proactively communicating
- Manage and work through product backlog items with a range of complexities
- Review Pull Requests and give actionable recommendations to help colleagues maintain high-quality code
- Pair programme with your colleagues to work through problems
- On an ongoing basis you will attend a fortnightly sprint review, sprint planning, refinement or retrospective meeting and join our non-work related team chats including fortnightly lunch & learns
- Has previous experience as a commercial software engineer working within 'product' orientedteams
- Enjoys the challenge of working hard in a start-up environment and hasa problem-solving mindset
- Has experience of building mobile-first web applications
- Has commercial experience with our tech stack
- Has had exposure to cloud providers such asAWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Ideally has knowledge of 'Serverless' technologies such asAWS S3, AWSLambda, AWSSAM, and Serverless Frameworks
- Is driven, flexible, self-motivated and is a good communicator
- You’ll be a key player in how we continue build our product

- High autonomy where you determine how you help us achieve our goals
- We are a remote first team so you'll be collaborating with our team across Australia & New Zealand, however we also try to collaborate in person once a week where team members are co-located
- We’re a small start-up that is growing very quickly, and at times we’re building the bike while riding it
- We won’t handhold you - We have a highly autonomous environment. However, this doesn’t mean we don’t work as a team
