Join us in creating memorable experiences that set the stage for the future of retail. ABOUT THE ROLE We're on a quest to deliver an outstanding omnichannel retail experience. Our goal is to understand our customers and their preferences, helping them navigate our extensive range of choices. As a Store Leader, your role will span both front-of-house service and operations, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, while also overseeing a small distribution center operation at the rear of the store. You will spearhead these initiatives by fostering performance, developing skills, mastering accurate stock inventory, and cultivating a positive workplace atmosphere through confident and empathetic leadership. Key responsibilities:
- Ensure the delivery of an exceptional Blackhearts omnichannel customer service experience.
- Maintain a healthy, ethical workplace environment in line with Blackhearts’ core values.
- Execute regular performance coaching and mentorship, training and developing your team to upskill and build capabilities.
- Advance your own product knowledge by attending Blackheart’s training and tastings, ensuring team participation.
- Maintain high standards of visual merchandising and dynamic store presentation – shelving, displays, fridges, pricing, product tags.
- Maintain accurate stock inventory, conducting stocktakes, investigations, and reporting errors.
- Oversee a small distribution center operation, ensuring smooth coordination between front of house and stockroom activities.
- Manage all aspects of stock delivery and return, including receiving and transferring stock.
- Promote careful product handling to minimise breakages and meet stock loss KPIs.
- Support the fulfilment and dispatch of omnichannel customer orders, liaising with delivery partners.
- Meet budgets, financial objectives, and KPIs.
- Manage the store roster, including shop floor team, warehouse assistants, and delivery drivers, to meet wage bill targets.
- Complete store timesheets and administrative tasks.
- Demonstrate full compliance in all aspects of Workplace Health and Safety, promoting and supervising WHS practices.
- A Leading-by-example mentality - you give confident direction but don’t micromanage.
- Previous experience in a leadership role within the hospitality or retail industry, across both customer service and stock management/logistics
- Passion for food and beverage, regularly engaging in self-directed research, tastings, and producer visits.
- High attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Thirst for learning and acquiring new skills.
- Enjoyment for physical work and the ability to perform heavy lifting duties.
- Self-motivation and efficiency in executing daily tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence for tough but productive discussions.
- Strong interpersonal skills – you’re empathetic, respectful, and understanding of others.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Highly organised with the ability to plan, prioritise, and time-manage, taking ownership of workloads.
- Team-player mentality: Prepared to put the needs of others ahead of their own.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and during seasonal holiday periods.
- Previous Pronto Xi system experience is a bonus.
